Nimita Rathod is a Masters graduate in Fashion Design from Domus Academy, Milan, Italy and a Post graduate from the prestigious National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad in Apparel and Accessory Design. With her design stint in Milan and having worked with Italian fashion designers like Rafael Lopez, Piero Gigliotti and Maurizio Modicca of "Frankie Morello" and Elio Fiorucci of "Fiorucci" and assisted homeland fashion designer Sabyasachi Mukherji for his one of the most acclaimed collection "Frog Princes", she started her label in 2007 at Lakme fashion Week. Having showcased at Lakme Fashion Week, Mumbai for consecutive seasons, the label has received outstanding acclaim from national & international buyers and press. 

Fashion magazines like Verve India, Elle and VenuZine, Chicago featured Nimita Rathod as one of the most promising fashion faces in 2008. The label was invited to participate at Chicago Fashion Week for Autumn Winter 08.


Previously, Nimita Rathod has also collaborated with some of the leading design houses and has designed home fashion, fashion accessories, leisure garments and luxury home ideas. Home fashion project for design house, Shades of India for SS06 and AW07 has won several awards at Maison et objet, Paris and in 2007 Nimita Rathod won 'Dream Catcher' competition for home fashion organized by Portico, New York.


Nimita Rathod label believes in the crafts heritage of India and marries the rich reservoir of textiles and handcrafts from India with the contemporary fashion trends to create ensembles for a clientele with a penchant for artistic and an eclectic lifestyle. The fashion inspiration would be reflecting an international taste of colors, textiles and motifs that would array into different cultures and geographical boundaries.

The label is committed to its participation at grass-root levels to collaborate with local artisans, weavers, embroiderers and printers to come-up with extra ordinary results that are reflected in our designs that are elegantly simple.


Presently, the label is retailed at various leading multi designer stores in Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Pune and Internationally in Finland and Iran.
